Blackgum Mountain Volunteer Fire Department

The family of John Cecil & Nannie Davis has donated to the Blackgum Mountain Volunteer Fire Department the homesite of Cecil & Nannie, approximately 2.5 acres facing Highway 100 in Johnsonville. The fire department plans on applying for grants to construct a combination fire station and community building. The community building will take some of the pressure off of the existing Fire Station #1 on Blackgum Landing road. Currently fundraisers are held at Station #1 to help support the Department. The community building will be designed with a kitchen and floor space to accommodate 100 people. Anyone interested in assisting the Department with donations or coordinating fundraisers for the community center please contact the department at the non emergency phone #773-8766 or

e-mail us.
