Sadly, many of the fires we respond to in this rural community are not noticed because of very secluded areas, consequently many of our scene arrivals will look like this.

This picture was taken at a local fire scene, and story reported by local newspaper, of the unscathed picture of 'The Last Supper'. What an interesting glow!

Blackgum/Vian Volunteer Fire Departments responding to house fire on Anderson Mountain. Scene less than 1/2 mile from the site of proposed Blackgum Station #3. Currently "No man's land".

These pictures posted here are not to glorify the morbid, but possibly enlighten you to the fact that all of these men and women volunteer their time to come to the aid of their fellow man and woman.
